About

A white woman sits at a table reading a book with a collage of flowers and illustrations around her.

Hi, I’m Sara, a close reader, book reviewer, and forever student.

Reading transforms my home and me. With a book open, I feel like a student again, pen in hand, synapses firing, eager to talk about books. I treasure the online book community and the spaces it provides for readers to discuss books. You can find me hanging out on Bookstagram, BookThreads, BookTok, Substack, and #TheStacksPack Discord on any given day. They are my forever campuses, the places I go for book chatting.

The Books I Read

  • I intentionally read books written by authors who represent and tell stories about the global majority.
  • My 2025 reading focus (continued from 2024) is memoirs, fantasy, and wellness books written by Black women.
  • I am a huge fan of The Stacks Podcast, bookclubs, my Satisfiction box, and the Storygraph app.
  • My monthly TBR is governed by several incoming tides, namely Libby holds, book box subscriptions, and bookclub selections.

My Identity & Pronouns:

I am a cisgender heterosexual white woman. My pronouns are she/her.

Other:

I am almost an elder millennial; a Pisces; a sourdough bread baker; a San Diego transplant, and a mom of one (and done).
